Strategic planners and strategy professionals are challenged to develop the strategic plan and then to guide its execution. While a budget does not inspire employees, a connection to a higher purpose does. But how do we inspire the execution of a strategic plan? Key principles from Conscious Capitalism can guide the way.

In June 2021, Kris Schaeffer led an interactive session on “Using Conscious Capitalism to Inform Your Strategy,” now called Conscious Capitalism Part 1. Key points from this session are:

  • Purpose inspires the goals of a strategic plan
  • Strategic purpose “solves a worthy problem”
  • The worthy problem is more than profit. The strategy is also directed toward serving people and saving the planet

So, now that you have a worthy strategy, how do you effectively apply the principles of Conscious Capitalism to strategy execution?

Conscious Capitalism shows us how organizations thrive when they are designed as human systems…its essence is to create more humane organizations by treating employees and customers as people, not machines. This human approach motivates employees to engage fully and sustain their energies over time.

In this follow up Part 2 session, Kris will share the key elements and examples of how Conscious Capitalism guides strategy execution by addressing barriers to change, embedding purpose into jobs, and engaging stakeholders and frontline leaders.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Since this session will pick up where her prior session left off, we encourage all attendees to understand the basics of using Conscious Capitalism to inform strategy, which Kris presented to ASP in June 2021:
